DAY 1 – ARRIVAL TO SLOVENIA AND VILLAGE DOVJE
Arrival to Slovenia and in the Gorenjska Alpine region, which lies on the northern slopes of the Julian Alps, in the valley of the Sava River. Accommodation in a private apartment house in the old village Dovje, near the Triglav National Park. Meeting with the local bike guide and later dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight staying.
DAY 2 – »ALPINE CIRCLE« – OVER 3 COUNTRIES (SLOVENIA – AUSTRIA – ITALY)
Breakfast. Today we are going on a wonderful tour of three countries. When we ascend to the first mountain pass across the Karavanke, we will descend to Austrian Carinthia, the land of lakes. There we head west, cycling through a valley surrounded by mountains on both sides, north and south. Driving through Carinthia, later we enter Italy and continue pedaling to the city of Tarvisio. A short stop, for refreshment, in the afternoon we continue east, with a long but not steep ascent, to the border with Slovenia. From there we go under the northern slopes of the Julian Alps back to Dovje, where our tour ends. Some free time to relax, maybe you can visit the Slovenian Alpine Museum, where you gain some knowledge and information about the mountaineering history of our Alpine country. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight.

DAY 3 – LAKE BLED AND ALPINE MEADOWS OF GORENJSKA
Breakfast. Departure for a not too difficult, but very nice tour to Lake Bled and the city of Bled, which is considered one of the most attractive Slovenian sights. We will go to the town of Jesenice, the town of steelmaking. From Jesenice, take the road that takes us near the Triglav National Park (named after Slovenian’s highest mountain peak – Triglav 2.864 m) to Gorje village and descent to lake Bled. After a cycling tour around the lake, a stop in the tourist center and some free time for refreshment, later we continue through the beautiful landscape to Radovljica, across the beautiful green meadows and villages back to Dovje. Free time to relax, dinner in the restaurant. Overnight.

DAY 4 – HEART OF JULIAN ALPS – LEGENDARY »PASS VRSIC« CLIMB
Breakfast. Today’s tour is one of the most popular bikes rides in Slovenia. We assure you will soon get an idea of why this is so! Our tours go west, along the Sava river, to the town of Kranjska Gora – one of the most popular ski resorts in Slovenia. Above Kranjska Gora is a fantastic mountain road that connects the northern side of the Alps with the southern part. At the top is the famous mountain pass Vrsic. If we leave Kranjska Gora, we will quickly gain some height and gradually the road becomes steeper. There are many switches -bends that run from 800 meters above sea level to 1.660 meters. At the top, at the Vrsic pass, you will enjoy the fantastic landscape of the Julian Alps, the beauty of the high mountain peaks around. After a long stop, we will start descending, to Kranjska Gora, and take a short bike ride to the world-famous Planica valley. Mother of all the world’s great ski ski jumps. After a short stop at the Planica ski jump and the Nordic Center, we return to Dovje, where our tour ends. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 – ASCEND – KARAVANKE MOUNTAIN RANGE
Breakfast. The stage of the day is long, so after breakfast we will go along the valley of the Sava River, in the direction of Jesenice and on, over a larger pass, to the descent to the town of shoemakers – Trzic. From the pleasant town of Trzic, there is only one long ascent to the Karavanke Mountains Range, which borders Austria. We will have a longer refreshment stop at the top of the pass before turning back. We will arrive in Dovje along the same route in the late afternoon. Dinner, overnight.
TOUR DATA: 98 KM, 1,160 m in ascent.
DAY 6 – DEPARTURE DAY
Breakfast. Time to say goodbye and end your stay in romantic village of Dovje.
