    Welcome to Slovenia and Styria. Discover its capital city Maribor, venture into a charming world of wine-growing hills, idyllic villages, forests and orchards, surrounded by two rivers, the Drava in the south and the Mura in the north. You will enjoy the hospitality of the locals, excellent food and wine as you cycle the 212 km route in three stages. Guided bike tour with luggage transfer, 3 stages, 5 days (road or trekking bike).

    DAY 1 – MARIBOR – A “PROLOGUE” THROUGH THE CAPITAL OF STYRIA AND THE CITY OF OLD WINE

    Arrival in Maribor and at the hotel, short refreshment and a leisurely afternoon cycling around the city of Maribor, along the Drava river, on the outskirts of the city, where you will discover the beauty of its location and its sights while cycling. Of course, we will stop at the most important one – the Old Vine in Lent, the oldest vine in the world. Wine tasting. Free time for an individual dinner and a visit to the cosy local pubs in the Old Town. Overnight.

    DAY 2 – MARIBOR – STAGE 1: ALONG A RIVER DRAVA BANKS OVER TO CROATIA

    Breakfast at the hotel, preparation of luggage for transport. We will cycle eastwards along the banks of the river Drava to reach the town of Ptuj. Slovenia’s oldest town invites you to stop for a short break and refresh yourself. We will continue our ride through the villages near the banks of the Drava to Ormož, and later across the Croatian border to the Baroque town of Varaždin. After checking in at the hotel, some free time to wander around the well-preserved old town with its castle, pleasant streets and beautiful architecture. Individual dinner. Overnight.

    TOUR DATA: 70 km and 150 vertical meters in climbs. Local roads, asphalt base, partially unpaved.

    DAY 3 – VARAŽDIN – STAGE 2: OVER VINE HILLS TO THE BANKS OF MURA RIVER – PREKMURJE (Slovenia)

    Breakfast. Today we will head north, crossing hilly countryside at the start of the tour and joining the River Mura. We will re-enter Slovenia along the banks of the Mura and continue through flat Prekmurje to the stage finish in the famous private resort of Lovenjak, not far from Murska Sobota. Accommodation, free time to relax and later an individual dinner in the resort’s restaurant, renowned for its superb cuisine. Overnight.

    DAY 4 – LOVENJAK RESORT – STAGE 3: MURA RIVER VALLEY & BACK TO MARIBOR

    Breakfast. Handover of luggage for transport. This day we will cycle to Bad Radkersburg. Short stop. Later we continue on the right side, on Slovenian territory, along the river Mura. We will arrive in Šentilj, a small town close to the Austrian border, along a quiet road. From here we continue southwards, through wine-growing hills and through characteristic settlements towards the city of Maribor. We return to the city in the afternoon. Free afternoon for individual sightseeing in Maribor. Individual dinner, overnight.

    TOUR DATA: 71 km and 270 vertical meters in climbs. Local roads, asphalt base.

    DAY 5 – END OF TOUR: “GOODBYE MARIBOR, GOODBYE STYRIA”

    Breakfast at the hotel, departure and farewell to the city of Maribor. End of the programme.
