Both regions are positioned at the north of Slovenia, bordering with Austria. Excellent area for gravel and road cycling. Fantastic scenery, huge variety of roads and gravel paths, spreaded all over valleys and hills of Peca, Uršlja Gora, Kozjak, Pohorje and many more. Famous Drava Bike route is among the most popular routes in Slovenia. Fantastic experience for everyone. There is also a flat part of the Drava and Ptuj fields.
Carinthia – Koroška, is a mountainous landscape with mighty forests that impresses with the treasures of Karawanken/Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark, the subterranean world of Mt Peca, where you can go biking or kayaking, and with wide grasslands of the green Pohorje as well as an idle, dreamy character of the Drava River.
Maribor and lower Styria is a traditonaly land of very friendly people. You will enjoy a great hospitality and there are many sites to visit, such as the oldest wine of the world in Maribor, Ptuj – the oldest town in Slovenia, not to mention a variety of food and wines.

Both Styria and Carinthia offer a beautifull scenery. We will invite you to discover mountain tops with a bycicle, such as Pohorje and Kozjak, with the scenic views over Drava river Valley, or ride arround mount Peca or Uršlja Gora in Carinhtia with a view far into Austrian Alps. Have a ride in the wine areas of Slovenske gorice. Hundreds of hills with vineyards. Gravel grinders can have tours from 90 km of full flat gravel roads or climbing in Pohorje forest with thousands of vertical meters. Maribor is a host of Pohorje marathon, host of the UCI MTB dowhnill world tour.
GOURMET EXPERIENCE
Both regions are known for some special local dishes. If we speak about Carinthia, we can not go there, not to try Mežerli. This rustic Slovenian dish was traditionally prepared during pig, veal, or lamb slaughter. It usually combines cooked offal such as lungs and hearts with bread, spices, and eggs. The combination is mixed into a mash that is then shortly baked and should be served warm.Mežerli can be enjoyed as an appetizer or the main course when it is accompanied by bread, boiled potatoes, or potato salad. The dish is usually associated with the region of Carinthia.
At Styria, the typical dishes include pohorski pisker, the aromatic pohorska bunka with local cheese, the simple pohorska omleta and pohorski žganci with local milk or coffee with milk. Try these dishes at one of the many good gostilnas, restaurants with olden age ambiance, tourist farms or the local wine cellars, where the culinary and viticulture masterpieces add a pinch of the typical Štajerska region hospitality.
